Site Plan Studio

Draw it on your lot. Print it to scale.

Site Plan Studio lets you draw your project on your plat of survey or on the property map and print it to a true engineering scale. It measures as you draw and checks the drawing against the size and coverage rules found for your lot. When a rule or a measurement is missing, it says so instead of showing a pass.

How it works

From the first step to the last

  1. Start from what you have

Upload a plat of survey or another PDF, a photo of a paper sheet, or send a view from the property map that is already calibrated.

  2. Calibrate

Use the scale stated on the PDF, two points on a known dimension, or a second check that corrects phone scans squeezed in one direction. When a web-map printout's scale bar can't be trusted, the Studio says so.

  3. Draw

Trace the lot, place and rotate structures, and draw fences, decks, paving, utilities and additions, with snapping and touch controls on phones and tablets.

  4. Check as you go

Lot area, proposed area, building coverage and impervious coverage update as you draw, compared with the department's limits where they are known.

  5. Print or save

Export a PDF on letter (8.5×11) or tabloid (11×17) at a standard engineering scale, and reopen the plan later.

What you see

Measured as you draw

  • Lot area

From the lot you trace or the calibrated parcel.

  • Proposed area

The footprint of what you're adding.

  • Main building

The house or principal building on the lot.

  • Existing accessory buildings

Sheds, garages and other structures already there.

  • Building coverage

Compared with the lot coverage limit, where known.

  • Impervious coverage

Compared with the impervious surface limit, where known.

Plainly

What a site plan is not

  • It is a planning drawing, not a survey or a plat of survey.
  • It never invents setbacks, clearances or engineered design. Unknown or conflicting rules stay labeled.
  • It is not a stamped or engineered drawing.

Who it's for

Built for the people on the permit

  • Contractors

Draw your own plans, or order managed site plans, depending on the plan you're on.

  • Homeowners

Site plan preparation comes with Done For You.

  • Design pros
