Permit Record

One record for the whole permit, from first question to closeout.

Every project gets a Posted Card: one permit record that holds the property, the requirements, the approvals, the documents and the people. Each person sees their own box on the card, with the work that is theirs. Nothing has to be rebuilt from emails and spreadsheets when someone new joins the job.

Step 01 of 07

One record per project: the Posted Card.

A recorded walkthrough of the real Permit Card and record, with a made-up village and people.

How it works

From the first step to the last

  1. The address check opens the workspace

Checking an address and describing the project opens a Permit Workspace for it.

  2. Everything lands in one place

Overview, approvals, design specs, code requirements, documents, and a checklist built from the requirements.

  3. Invite people by role

Send a one-use link. Editors change details and request documents, contributors upload only what is assigned to them, and viewers follow along.

  4. Request and track documents

Ask for a document and follow it from Requested to Submitted to Needs revision.

  5. Record the outcome

The status trail records each step, including approved, or denied with a reason.

What you see

Inside the record

  • Overview

The Posted Card: the address, the parcel, each approval's sign-off box and where the project stands.

  • Approvals

Each approval the project needs and its status.

  • Design specs

The project's size, placement and construction facts.

  • Code requirements

    Source-backed rules for this project.

  • Documents

Uploads and requests, with who owes what.

  • Checklist

An action plan built from the requirements, with owners.

  • Invitees

Who is on the project and in which role.

Plainly

Good to know

  • Today the record is shared by the owner, their team, invited collaborators and Permitech's permit technicians.
  • Building departments don't sign off inside Permitech today. The record tracks the department's decision when it comes.
  • The Permit Application Packet includes a reference sheet you copy onto the department's own form. It is not a filled-in application.

Who it's for

Built for the people on the permit

  • Homeowners and contractors

Own the record and decide who sees what.

  • Designers, surveyors, engineers and trades

Join as invited collaborators and deliver what is assigned to you.
